The meeting was held in the all purpose room of the Salvation Army Building on Clinton Street in Concord, New Hampshire.

The meeting was called to order by president, Bill Brown at 1:30 PM. There were 33 members present.

The secretary’s report was accepted as printed in the newsletter. The treasurer’s report was read and accepted.

Steffen Hermanns mentioned that he was about to place an order for loupes and to see him if you wish to order one.

New Business:  Jon Herndon sent a letter that UNH Scholarship check was coming due. The club wishes to thank Jim Young for donating his $100 speaking fee for the last meeting to the UNH Field Camp Scholarship. A thank you letter will be sent to him. Bill Brown brought up the new deadline for newsletter submissions as being the second Monday after a club meeting. This was to help give time for the newsletter to be prepared and delivered about a week and a half in advance of a meeting. Submissions after the deadline will appear in the following newsletter as long as they are not time sensitive. Jon Herndon also mentioned in his letter that the club needed to add two more field trips to be able to participate in it’s trading with the New England field trip trade. Gordon Jackson will be hosting a workshop in his home next month on April 13th. A pot luck lunch with an Italian theme will be had. A combination club board and show committee meeting will be held on April 6th at 12:30PM at Bill Brown’s house. Gordon Jackson mentioned that if you have extra 1 inch specimens, he could used them for the show. Grant Kidd and Nancy Wilson are moving to North Carolina.

Pam Jackson supplied this month’s refreshments.

Lots of door prizes this month due to donations from Bill Adams, Pat Barker, Don Dallaire, Bill Brown, Ernie Schlichter and Mike Undercofler. The winners were Montana Barite – Pat Barker; Montana Quartz – Mike Undercofler; Almandine Garnet – Frances Gill; Surry Hematite– Mike Normandin; Road Side Geololgy book – Edna Whitmore; Brazilian Quartz – Ashleigh McCrory; Lancaster Chiastolite – Bill Adams, and a Nova Scotia Stilbite and Apophyllite – Bill Brown.

Don Dallaire, with occasional help from Ernie Schlichter, presented a great talk on their collecting adventure in Montana. Collecting sites in Butte, Lolo Pass and the PC Mine were a few of the localities covered. The great scenery and constant collecting competition between Don and Ernie made for some great slides and laughs.

Respectfully submitted,

Vincent Valade
