The CMC will meet Saturday, April 10th at 7:30 PM (Please note we are back to evening meetings) at the Salvation Army Building on Clinton Street in Concord, NH. Our guest speakers for the April meeting will be David Wunsch NH State Geologist, Dave will speak to the club about the demise of the Old Man of the Mountains. The mineral of the month will be minerals from Conway Granites (no granite from the Old Man Please). If anyone would like to donate a mineral specimen to the club raffle please bring it with you. Refreshments this month will be provided by Brian & Jennessa Bissonnette. The Board met with David Wunsch, State Geologist and resulted in what could be an exciting long term project. Bob Whitmore was instrumental in getting the State Geologist before the Board with his proposal. I am hoping this project goes forward and grows in scope. I have sent a letter (see page 3) outlining a possible mineral display with the State. We will keep you up to date with any happenings. Please note that the May Meeting will be held on May 1st, the first Saturday of the month at 7:30pm at the Salvation Army Building. This is to prevent a conflict with the Maine Mineral Symposium which is May 7th - 9th. Many club members go to this event, check it out if you have the chance. Upcoming Events May 1st: 7:30pm - Don Dallaire - Collecting in Michigan displays, Michigan minerals & copper. June 12th: Club trip to Palermo - Cookout, collecting etc. Sept 11th: 7:30pm - Bob Whitmore - collecting in Namibia displays, African minerals .
The 2004 DUES ARE DUE. The dues are $5 single, $10 family. Please give Vince Valade who collects the dues, or Don Dallaire who handles the money, a check in the amount of your dues. If you recently joined the Club your 2004 dues may already be paid. If you do not pay your dues this month, this will be your last newsletter and you will no longer be a member of the club. If you have any questions please call Vince Valade at 497-3935. |
