These are the minutes of the January 12th meeting of the Capital Mineral Club.

The meeting was held in the all-purpose room of the Salvation Army Building on Clinton Street in Concord, New Hampshire.

The meeting was called to order by President, Bill Brown at 1:30pm. There were 21 members present.

The secretary’s report was accepted as printed in the newsletter. The treasurer’s report was read and accepted.

Old Business: Club Members talked about the next mineral show at Sunapee, focusing on flyers and getting show information into magazines. A recap of the Christmas Party was mentioned. The Club presented the Salvation Army with $250.00.

New Business: Discussed ideas on how to improve the newsletter with stories and articles people can share. A board meeting has been scheduled for July 20th to discuss refurbishing the show trailer. The Club get-together at Gordon Jackson’s house is on hold for the present. Field trips were discussed, focusing on how to help new members gain more experience in collecting. Possible sites discussed were: Eden Mills, Bald Mt., Nottingham Golden Beryl locality, and Palermo mine. A new link has been added to the Hot Links page of the CMC website: http://www.WalshBrothers.co.uk An assortment of jewelry and related articles can be found there. It was discussed that the club could purchase Belomo loupes (see photo below with link attached ) for $13.50 for club members for a group order. The door prize for this month’s club meeting was an ammonite from Ancash,Peru. It was won by Francis Gill.
