CAPITAL MINERAL CLUB

CONCORD, NEW HAMPSHIRE

BY-LAWS

ARTICLE #1 - NAME

The name of this organization shall be THE CAPITAL MINERAL CLUB

(Adopted 1962)

ARTICLE #2 - PURPOSE

The purpose of the Club shall be to study and share in the knowledge of rocks and minerals and associated topics, and to encourage others to participate through help and education.

(Adopted 1962, revised 1977, 1994)

ARTICLE #3 - CODE OF ETHICS

MEMBERS SHALL:

1. Not use the club's name or assets for personal gain.

2. Conduct themselves while participating in a mineral related activity in a manner that will reflect credit upon the Club and themselves.

3. Strive to perpetuate the Club.

4. Conform to the Club by-laws and policies.

5. Promote the study of mineralogical studies.

6. Exhibit a spirit of good fellowship toward all members.

ARTICLE #4 - FISCAL YEAR

The fiscal year of the Club shall coincide with the calendar year.

ARTICLE # 5 - MEMBERSHIP

NEW MEMBERSHIP:

Non-members may apply for membership by filing with the club secretary. The Board shall then make a recommendation for acceptance of the individual based on Article 3, into the Club at a regular meeting. 

MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL:

Members shall file a registration form and pay dues to the Club Secretary according to the time limits established in Article 5.  Former members who have not been members for one (1) fiscal year must apply as new members.

(a) Adult members shall be eighteen (18) years of age and shall have full voting privileges.

(b) Junior members shall be under eighteen (18) years of age and shall not have voting privileges nor shall they hold office.  Junior
members must be accompanied by an adult on all Club activities.

(c) Honorary membership, with voting privileges, may be awarded on recommendation of the Board followed by a favorable vote of two-thirds of those present at a regular meeting of the Club.  Honorary membership is awarded for life and is given for outstanding service to the Club or to the hobby.
