Capital Mineral Club News

Inside this issue:

The CMC will meet Saturday May 5th at the Salvation Army Building on Clinton Street in Concord, NH at 7:30 PM .  We are meeting the first Saturday in May instead of the second Saturday to accommodate the Maine Mineral Symposium being held May 11th - 13th.
Ted Johnson will be the guest speaker and will give a slide show on the White Cliffs Opal area of Australia. 
The mineral of the month will be Australian Minerals / Opals.
John Herndon will supply refreshments.
This year's CMC Scholarship will be awarded to  Jason A. Clark on Sunday May 6th.  He was chosen to be the recipient by the Dept. of Earth Sciences faculty / UNH.  Congratulations Jason!
The Nominating Committee has chosen the following slate of officers for

election to the next years term:
Bill Brown - President
Howard Ewing - VP
Don Dallaire - Treasurer
Vince Valade - Secretary
Gordon Jackson - Member of the Board
Dave Shelton - Auditor

There were several winners of door prizes at the April Meeting - all but the club prize were donated by Bill Brown:

New Mast Head Contest

Here are the rules for the contest as promised:   June 30th will be the deadline for all submissions. The winner  will be chosen by casting a vote - the majority will win.  There will be a congratulatory prize for the person who comes up with the new name.
