Chairman Kathy Dallaire had flowers for a special prize.

The following December 8, 1984 party had 25 members attending dinner at the Spain’s, Liberty Street, Concord, NH.

Beginning with the nineteenth meeting on December 14, 1985, all meetings have been held at the Salvation Army building on Clinton Street in Concord, NH. Pam Spain was the chairman and Stan Young began carving the turkey which became a tradition.

The December meeting for 1986 and 1987 was chaired by Dave Kelso. Twenty people attended the December 12 meeting in 1987. December 1988 Bill Burroughs chaired and in 1989 Steffen Hermanns chaired.

At the December 8, 1990 meeting, I took over for what was to be a 3 year stint and have been doing the get- together ever since. We have had a low of 24 people attending (2000) and a high of 37 people (1990 & 1998. The December 8, 2001 was attended by 27 people. We have had snow storms three times (1992, 1993 & 1995), rain (1996) and good weather eight times. In 1995, the Field Collecting & Creative Lapidary Award was started by Vince Valade. The suggested value of the Yankee swap gift became $5.00 to $10.00 in 1996. Don Dallaire, Treasurer, has always provided the club with the grand prize for the Yankee Swap. Everyone has pitched in and made the get together an easy event, cooking the ham, turkey, mashed potatoes, vegetables, salads, relishes, supplies, and all the yummy deserts. While arranging tables and chairs, putting on the table cloths, making the coffee and bringing in displays and participating in the collecting contest, the club headed for its eighth year. The biggest change has been the social aspect of the get together. In the last few years the talk and coffee has increased, and I know the reason - my charm. I and the Club say a big thank you to everyone and hope to see you on our 42nd December meeting, - 36th Christmas party, 36th Yankee swap, 34th turkey, 20th ham, 25th club prize, and our 8th field collecting award, December 14, 2002. That will be one more year after my twelfth or for those not superstitious, my thir..... year.

One thing I am hoping is that this chronology of the December meeting will get some comments and stories to fill in or correct the record.
