Message From Your President

It only seems like yesterday, but two years have passed and it is time for me to step down as your President. I would like to thank all the officers and committee members who served under me. They are Howard Ewing (Vice President), Vince Valade (Secretary), Don Dalaire (Treasurer), and special thanks to our Show Committee Chairman John McCrory and his staff, Jon Herndon and Scott Higgins. Also Steffen Hermanns and Robin Edgewood-Reece for their dedication to our newsletter and website.

It has been a pleasure serving the Capital Mineral Club as President for the past two years. Once again, thank you for the opportunity.

President, Bill Brown

Field Trips

There were many field trips this year. Hope you were able to attend some of them this past spring and summer. If you were unable to attend, you missed out on some great fun.

Some of the trips from May-August were the Orford Nickel Mine in Quebec, Canada, the Mascot Lead Mine in Gorham, New Hampshire, a trip to Pearl Lake in Lisbon, New Hampshire and the IronPyrite Road cut location in Lyman, New Hampshire, also several NEFTA Field Trips. The Wise Mine Trip was one of the high lights this year, hope you didn’t miss it because you may not get another chance to collect at this mine. The Club would like to thank Jim Tovey for this opportunity and NEFTA President Ed Murphy for his effort in putting this trip together.

There was a trip to Gilman Notch, Center Ossipee, New Hampshire and Eden Mills, Vermont. Another NEFTA trip, this time to the Palermo Mine in North Groton, New Hampshire hosted by Bob Whitmore. Thanks Bob, for opening the mine for the NEFTA Clubs. Several more trips are in the planning stages for this fall. Hope everyone had a good spring and summer. See everyone soon.

                                                                                           Respectfully Submitted,

                                                                                           President

                                                                                           Bill Brown
