April 2001

Volume 1,Issue 3

Capital Mineral Club News

Inside this issue:

The CMC will meet Saturday April 14th at the Salvation Army Building on Clinton Street in Concord, NH at 7:30 PM (Please note that club is back to evening meetings starting this month).

Tom Pantages will be the guest speaker and will talk about mineral photography.  The club members are encouraged to bring in their mineral/gem photographs to show to the other members.
We will also be forming a nominating committee for the selection of club officers.  Anyone who is interested in being on the committee please let Jon  Herndon know.
Rules for the Masthead Contest will be discussed and then published in the May issue of Crystals and Cabs.
John McCrory will supply refreshments.
The club would like to thank Pam and

Gordon Jackson for hosting our Workshop for the March meeting. The workshop went over very well considering the inclement weather conditions that existed. The club would also like to thank the club members who participated in the workshop. Many good ideas were brought to light.
Steffen Hermanns won March's door prize, Quartz-Pyrite from Arkansas.

This is a reminder that the May meeting of the CMC will be held on the first Saturday, May 5th instead of the second, this is to accommodate the Maine Mineral Symposium.

May 11th-13th

New Mast Head Contest

There has been interest shown in changing the name of the club newsletter, now known as Crystals and Cabs.  At the February club meeting it was decided to have a contest to come up with a new club newsletter name and masthead.   There will be a congratulatory prize for the person who comes up with the new name.  We
