The December  10th, 2005  meeting of the Capital Mineral Club was our annual Christmas party

held at the Salvation Army Building in Concord, New Hampshire.

We had an excellent showing of forty seven  members.  Those attending enjoyed a  delicious  buffet style meal.  The eleventh annual Best Field Collecting and Best Lapidary Contests were held.  After having lost the “Bill Brown Plaque” for the first time last year, Bill Brown came back with a vengeance and won both “Best of Show” plaques this year!  Through Bill’s teaching efforts the Lapidary end of the contest has continued to grow with several more entries on this side than with the field collecting end.  Also this year fossils not only made an appearance – but took first and second place with the “Best of Show” category in field collecting.

Two “New Business” items were brought up by Scott Higgins.  First, a motion to make Pat

Barker an “Honorary Club Member”, which passed.  Second, the usual checks for The Salvation Army and Elvin Jones ( Eden Mills Mine caretaker ) be sent, which also passed.
