EDITOR’S NOTE

All submissions to the newsletter welcome !

DEADLINE for submissions is the 3rd Saturday of every month. Late submissions will be carried over to the next month.

My address can be found on the back page of the monthly newsletter.

The November meeting of the CMC will meet Saturday, November 13th at 7:30 PM at the Salvation Army Building on Clinton Street in Concord, NH.

See November’s club meeting discussion topics on page 5.

The presentation for this month will be “Field Camp in Western Ireland” presented by Matthew Frades, this year’s UNH field camp scholarship recipient.  This year’s scholarship was given in the memory of James Moore.  Jim was one of the original incorporators of the Club.  He came from the defunct Antrim Area Mineral Club and give the Capital Club their remaining treasury to start the Club and chaired our first meeting, January 14, 1961.  Mr. Moore was a mineral dealer, running the Mineral Barn in Antrim.

The Mineral of the Month will be minerals of Ireland.

Refreshment’s will be provided by Martin Kippley.

The Long Awaited PALERMO BOOK is NOW available!

Over 200 pages of history and mineralogy of the famous Palermo Phosphate Pegmatite Mines located in North Groton, New Hampshire. This book contains over 130 mineral illustrations by Frederick C. Wilda.

This Book is a must for the serious collector!
"The Pegmatite Mines Known as PALERMO"
Written and Published by Robert W. Whitmore and Robert Lawrence

Bob is offering Clubs a 15% discount on the Palermo book when purchasing 5 or more books.  That is a $22.50 savings off the cover price, so your cost would be $127.50 through the club.  We had three members sign up at the last meeting, so we need 2 more.  The book is impressive and I think you too will agree.

Bob Whitmore will have copies of his Palermo book to sell at the club meeting.
