The September meeting of the CMC will meet Saturday, September 13th,
at 7:30 PM at the Salvation Army Building on Clinton Street in Concord,
NH. The Club would like to welcome the new slate of officers for this year and to thank the previous officers for their continuing efforts. (Please see the newsletter on page 2 for a list of elected officers for this year.) The Club would like to thank Wally and Anita Cluett for their entertaining presentation on meteorites at the May club meeting. We do not have a speaker for the September meeting therefore we are going to hold a show and tell brag night of what club members have collected this year, so bring your specimens and your stories. Refreshment’s will be provided by Steffen Hermanns. Volunteers are still needed for our annual Gem and Mineral Festival at Mt. Sunapee. Please contact John McCrory, Chairman, at 603-938-5226 to help with this event. Efforts are truly appreciated! See more info on page 5. Also we will be holding The second annual silent auction will be held during our social/goodies time. One of the items will be The Newry, Maine tourmaline drawing by Fred Wilda. This is a limited edition print (13 of 100). The print was received by the Club for our $550.00 donation towards the acquisition of the Newry mines. Hopefully there will be items that several will want. Remember the auction chant, "bid often, bid high". The regular October Club meeting will be the Saturday following the Sunapee show. It will be on the 18th. so mark your calendars and bring New York minerals for display. Don’t forget that we have another field trip up to Eden Mills set for the weekend of September 20th and 21st. So if you missed the first trip make sure that you make this one. The weather is beautiful up there this time of the year.
