steel dome.  Inside Indian music played quietly, and we walked around a circular catwalk above the rock carvings.  Signs translated some of the rock pictures, and the Indian rangers were there to answer questions.  Disappointingly, picture taking was not allowed, nor are there any postcards for sale at the site or outside the Park at a general store.  This was a very worthwhile side trip from the Gemboree, we thought.  We got back to the B&B at 7:30 p.m., just about the same time as the diggers.
The next morning our gang was up at 6:30 a.m. to start hosing and scrubbing their very muddy Bear Lake finds.  It took them several hours to clean them and divide them all up.  They most generously allowed Priscilla and me to select some of their loot, which we much appreciated. We had a wonderful time and all agreed that the trip proved to be outstanding.

For Capital Mineral Club members who are interested in attending the 38th Rockhound Gemboree, it will be held Aug. 2 to Aug. 5, 2001.
