September CMC Meeting -  2nd Annual Silent Auction

The Club wants to thank those that contributed to the silent auction (Bill, Gordon, Pam, Mike, Vince, Jon & Don). There were 13 items which fit nicely on the 8 foot table, (maybe a 10 foot table next year). The items were Hematite, Surry, NH; Newry Park limited edition print: Amethyst, New London, NH; Herkimer Diamond, NY; Blueberry Muffins; Amethyst scepter, Ossipee, NH; Fluorite, Walworth, NY; Rocks & Mineral magazines; Cut Wise Mine Fluorite; Fluorite, Ossipee, NH; Pyrite/Quartz, Huaron, Peru; & Epidotes (2), Warren, NH. A thank you to those that made it a fun and successful event for the Club (Charles, Scott, Steffen, Carlos, Pat, Vince, Gordon G., Janet, Ashley, Gordon J., Jon, & Olivia and many more who were not as successful). All the winners should have a specimen to enjoy for many more years, with the exception of Pat Barker , who with husband Bob is probably eating her prize as I am typing this. The Club raised $261.50. This is $124.50 more than last years auction! The 20 minutes for the auction appeared to be a good time limit (enough for Gordon J. to get his coffee and spill a little on someone’s treasure). Gordon Jackson – President

Member Name Badges

Name badges will be available at each meeting so everyone will be able to get know each other by a name and not just by your face. Don’t get your hopes up because in my case it will never happen since I should have my wife wear a badge around the house. There will be three types. The old time plastic badge which a few of us have. The computer badge which was done about 8 years ago. And the old stand-by "Hello my name is" sticker on your shirt store bought type which will be available at the meetings. The latter will be for anyone who hasn’t got one of the first two or forgets to bring his or her name badge Gordon Jackson – President
